Primary Purpose:

Assist campus principal as needed in a paraprofessional role. 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Valid Texas educational aide certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work well with children

Ability to communicate effectively with students and adults

Experience:

2 years of experience working with children (preferred)

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Instructional Support

1. Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
2. Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom/area.
3. Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
4. Help keep administrative records and prepare required reports as needed.

Student Management

1. Conduct instructional exercises; work with individual students or small groups.

2. Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.

Other

1. Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
2. Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.
